UXD 301- content design

this week we reflected on how our first project of smart watches is going to be approached and throughout this we went into detail bout what content is and how it shown through the digital design space and industry.

this project is to create 3 screens on a app for smart watches and how sustainable this can be throughout the user experience.

features of smart watches

many features of a smart watches conclude with health, connectivity, navigation and advanced technologies that are all compact shown in a smart watch interface.with this some interesting interactions being;

heart rate- some examples of the heart rate monitor would most likely be from apple and their smart watch with Fit bit as well being close second in the health and fitness type of smart watches.

sleep tracker- sleep trackers are a very interesting way for a watch to be involved in medically and to be able to track sleep through tracking movement as well as the running or more high volume exercise this will be tracked. a very good example of this is the CMF by nothing phone this watch is extremely smart with its sleep tracker with the user not needing to do anything with the watch in order for sleep mode to be activated.

GPS tracking and navigation- for the tracking of a user and navigation this is very conveinant as for using a tracking system this is for example the Garmin watch is a outdoor tracking device that can be used for users to track their workouts and or running or walking. also with tracking cars and other types of travel this watch is especially great for.

voice assist- voice assist is a big factor in smart watched due to the amount of screen sizing that is limited a voice control is extremely smart and easy for the user. also this is very friendly towards impaired users especially blind users. voice assist has grown very quickly in apps over 10 years through form Siri and Alexa now with Chat GBT this is even bigger now than ever. with this the galaxy watch form Samsung has a very good voice assist with google being their creator.

contactless payments- payments have come a long way as well with some being in a ring form as well as watches now for example apple pay is very popular with the your own card being used on the application itself which is a nice creative way to show bank cards instead of a paynow symbol.

user experience elements

some elements need to be glanceable or for the user to quickly look at very cohesivley and clearly. for example adaptive intelligence and context is a big factor when it comes to user experience with short interaction time being a main problem or benefit for smart watch ideas. also with the smaller screen type this needs to be consecutive throughout all designs such as apples own design is very clean and easy to adapt to with easy navigation being the forefront for their watch designs.
