UXD 104- imaging and data visualisation

Throughout this module i have gained a lot of experience on software and sketching process;

The music app Plately was my favourite out of all the module due to the variety of what i could achieve with the amount of freedom with this task i wanted to think out of the box and create something unique. my idea of a restaurant app was a personal choice due to working in hospitality this was a good way to combine both together by using my music app to showcase what type of music app i wanted and what i wanted to display to the user. throughout the process of Plately i really enjoyed creating the music app itself and learning new ways to display the music as i feel this has been my strongest application this year due to how enjoyable the brief was.

Also some trails with my music app was figuring out how to direct this to the user i wanted to for hospitality workers i thought the name had to be the biggest way to get the user to be involved and also i associated the colours with food as well with the red and off white tones.

The master apprentices were enjoyable as well as a quick side design when creating the projects and i could personally see the difference in my design in the master apprentices throughout the weeks that followed each other and this helped with creating both navigation and how i displayed data.

The data dashboard was my least favourite to design due to not giving myself enough time to design this the way that i wanted and to a better standard also with weather this was a very broad subject but with a lot of data this seemed as too much which was overwhelming at firs but then to figure out which data to use was to narrow down the important data. also the data dashboard had some trouble with the vector i have used for the map this did not allow me to cut out for a gradient background again this was all down to my own software skills and will be needing to follow up on this.

In conclusion both projects were very different from one another but again if i was to recreate the data dashboard i would and choose a different topic as this was very difficult for me to design on the other hand the music app was enjoyable and all the assets for this was very enjoyable to make due to a good design base on my end. also i should have given myself more time to create the data dashboard and will work on my time management as i tried to cram a lot of the design work 2 weeks before the critique week. this module was very enjoyable and interesting to learn all the different types of data visualisation that can be used in design and can be applied to UI and UX design.
