IXD 102- introduction into communication design 2025-2026

REFLECTION

The introduction to communication design and how technology and design have evolved over the years. also how each of the years really impacted on the design world and how we have our design techniques today. Also with the research into many typeface artists this has shown me how creative typography can be used for digital design and not just poster, graphics etc.

project analysis- create a type specimen screen from selected artists this must be 1024x1366 sizing and used on Figma, Illustrator or Procreate but no photoshop.

Type face artists

Louise Fili

Louise fili is an American graphic design who designed the Marseille typefaces font in 1980s. Her work is manly based off the 1920s flapper era with her design motifs and type faces resembling this and the style that is shown throughout the designs. Also she is an artist who manly focuses on the digital and graphics of typography.

I chose her as my initial research base as I thought her aesthetic was very interesting and that this type face was made in the 1080s and not created in 1920s as this is what resonates with me the most overall in her artworks.
