zooming in to icons can be a good way into making enough detail into a smaller design space such as a icon if there is much detail this would be blown up a bit more to show how much detail is shown throughout the icon. below is a image showing the detail of some icons that have worked well for example the analytics icon is very detailed and yet can be shown easily.

the use of abstraction in icons is very prominent within the icons design for example the image below is a stripped down version of the like, settings and profile icon with this is very popular for minimal design work and is very popular now compared to the earlier stages in icon work.

Agnostic language icons are visual icons that are universal recognition from everyone and can be understood by many with just images no text. this can be the use of flags, toilet directions, disabled badge ect. the image below is a example of language agnostic icons.

the impact icons have when being used for user interaction continues with this is all for the usability and navigation throughout a design would be essential for a good design to be successful. also the use of icons in UI are to reduce screen space for the user such as a navigation bar or buttons for the icons to be used a s a condensed way for information to be incorporated. below is a image of some icon sets used with UI design.
