IXD 103- exploring identity
this week we focused on how logo marks and word marks are made throughout an industry standard and why this is important from a branding perspective.
the process of branding concludes with how a brand is to be completed and what steps are to be included with the branding cycle.

Word marks vs Logo marks
word marks are letter based logos and have a distinct type face rather than a logo mark which has a symbol or icon within the mark itself.

pictorial and abstract logo marks consist of both an image and rather than a abstract image as well such as Pepsi logo this is a very abstracted version for Pepsi and rather than pictorial such as an apple for apple themselves which is a pictorial image for their branding. also with this although abstract logos aren’t used as commonly as pictorial this is a good way for their consumers to figure out what the brand is about and how this communicates with what it entails.
