Colour and guidelines

Types of colour

• CYMK print purposes, cyan magenta yellow and black used for printing and four colour printing
• Pantone used in printing, used for distinct branding, colour swatches
• RGB screen based colour formed from using 3 light beams. can have alpha channels.
• RAL mainly for paint or varnish coating, something painted in the brand colour on a product or a interior wall.

all of these types of colour are consistent with what the brand is needed throughout the colour picking process such as how CYMK can be transferred into RBG for example how colours look on screen compared to printing out onto a physical property.

hexadecimal

these are mostly used in web pages and is displayed as a method of numbers and letters that compile into 6 figures such as;

colour systems

monochromatic- colour in many shades

analogous- few colours close to each other

complementary- colours directly across

triad- colours forming triangle

brand guidelines

a document that has all assets and deliverables in one document of work.this is a reference tool and makes sure consistency.
