IXD 102- introduction into communication design 2025-2026
this week we focused on figma tutorials of components, variants and assets and how these are very influential for a good design to take place. also the use of this will be helping us with the second project as we will be needing to make a bio app for a design artists so this will be very useful to have learned.
Components are in Figma as a reusable design element that can be reused and this is an example of background colour, text and many other simple things to create for your project. with this buttons are very useful as components as they are interactive and for the user experience a good way to navigate through the project. this can use colour and icons throughout.
Variants are the combining of components and the linking towards each pages of a website. these are extremely crucial as this can make or break the websites compatibility with navigation elements. new variants are duplicating a side bar to create another linked bar for a website.
Assets are images, icons and components like a component this is how the navigation bar is extremely useful towards a websites good design. if made correctly assets can be a designers best friend as this will bring consistency to a design if using the same assets throughout.
