UXD- 104 imaging and data visualisation
the main reason designers use charts and diagrammatics is to display information without this looking boring or uninteresting which can happen with many not great quality charts and diagrams.the key difference between these two would be the way the information is displayed for example qualitative data (description); charts use quantitative data (numbers). these are the difference of what charts are compared to diagrams.

some ancient information continues with;
all of these are examples of how we used to communicate between each other using images and diagrams which for a long time before we had writing and type this was the main way of communication between each other.
the need to visualise complex data was needed but what way could this happen was from roots tracing back to the first map of the world being made in 18th century by William Playfair, this came with many more invention such as line charts, bar and pie charts. with this later on the periodic table is a massive chart that is described by the many metals and non solids that has been discovered in the world, this chart type has lot of data on this but can be easily understood with great design elements.

Neurath was a Austrian born philosopher which studied many pictorials and statistics such as Isotype and an innovator within the museum practices. with this he made a lot of designs which included people stats and he depicted them by designing an actual man or woman vector and depicted them as what he wanted to display in the data that he collected.

charts today have came a long way form the 1800s periodic table as we have every advanced technology this has been a huge jump in digital charts and not as many paper charts are being made today because of this. charts today consist of;
